A message from Crystal Dental Centre

As many of you know, there has recently been increased attention regarding Coronavirus-related developments. As such, we feel it is necessary to let our patients know that we are aware of the evolving situation and are taking appropriate precautionary measures to prevent transmission. Our number one priority is the health and well-being of our patients and employees.

As of March 12, 5:45pm PDT, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for Canada, and Vancouver Coastal Health says the risk of coronavirus disease transmission continues to remain low for residents of British Columbia. While the risk remains low, we recognize that patients may have some questions about how we’re responding to this situation.

Being in a highly regulated field of dentistry we are already held to extremely high standards to operate in a clean environment. We have many measures in place above and beyond the required IPAC (infection prevention and control) expectations from Public Health authorities of British Columbia. However, given the situation we want to ensure the safety of our patients and staff by taking further actions to prevent potential spread of COVID-19:

We are asking patients a series of screening questions regarding recent travel and/or symptoms related to the COVID-19 outbreak. In addition, we have implemented increased frequency of cleaning and wipe down sessions of our patient lounge and front desk/business desk.

We strongly encourage patients with symptoms of cough, headache, fever, or shortness of breath to refrain from attending their appointments, instead to stay at home and contact HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 for further counsel. Furthermore, we advise anyone returning from outside of Canada to remain at home for at least 2 weeks and to self-monitor/avoid outside contact.

Though the risk is currently low in Canada, we feel it is best practice to implement these strategies now ahead of time to ensure our preparedness and to protect our patients and staff. Our entire team has been briefed on our prevention and control policies and will continue to take any additional steps that are deemed necessary.

We thank you for your patience as we make changes to provide you with the best possible service during this fluid situation. Please feel free to contact us with with any questions or concerns you may have.

From our family to yours, we wish you good health.
